Online Shopping..No Pants Required.

So, Black Friday is nearly upon us.  I’ve been going back and forth trying to decide whether or not I’ve gotten a handle on my road-rage issues to brave the hoards that night.  I am really the nicest, most patient person..at least until I’ve been cut off in traffic half a dozen times, stuck in the middle of an intersection while a light turns red because OHMYGODIT’SGREENYOUIDIOTGO!!, or been bumped, jostled, elbowed and snarled at in stores a few dozen times.  Then I have to admit, things might get to the point where I need bail money a wee bit ugly.

Deal loving Al wants to go.  Al who doesn’t want to appear in front of a judge wants to stay home.

And also?  The bladder thing.  Standing outside in long lines in the cold air, most likely with coffee and no quick access to a potty.  That right there, my friends, is a recipe for disaster.  I don’t want to go down in history as the chick who got arrested for peeing in the Target parking lot on Black Friday.

Because I think it may be the more prudent option, I’ve been keeping an eyeball on the online Black Friday and Cyber Monday deals.  Specifically, I was looking for a flat screen TV for Mark, 40″ or bigger.  I wanted to surprise him with one for Christmas, but he walked in the door this weekend and announced that he wanted one.  Which means he will go buy one.  Which means surprise ruined.  Amazon.com started their pre-Black Friday sales this past Sunday, offering a new deal every 10 minutes on their site.  One of their big ticket items is the Seiki 50-Inch 1080p 60Hz LED HDTV, $229.

But, here’s the thing.  You don’t know when that sale will be announced.  It could be in 5 minutes, it could be tomorrow..you have to keep checking the site to see what deal is moving right then.  I imagine it will go live on Thursday or Friday early.

Target and Best Buy and Walmart all have some good deals on TV’s on Black Friday as well, and if I can’t get the Seiki from Amazon, will try for one of theirs.  I’ve already done quite a bit of online shopping this week taking advantage of the pre-Black Friday sales.  We got several American Girl things directly from their website for 75% off the original price, which is great, since I would normally have to sell a kidney to shop there.  On Amazon, we grabbed some great Monster High stuff (Mad, who is my birthday girl today,  knows how to find my blogs.. so I can’t say exactly what I got for her.  Hi Sweetie!  Better luck next time!)  for $30 marked down from $79.99 and since Mark is an Amazon Prime member, shipping was free.

I do like the lure of shopping with no pants on at home.  I can take my time and compare prices, read reviews and pee whenever I want look for the best deals.  And all with no pesky mug shot.
